The main event, a series of talks and discussions, will be held in Chapel Hill at Wilson Library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. This series will be rooted in deeply exploring the state of the LGBTQ+ community – and our impact in all aspects of life. From media and sports to local and global politics, we will come together to discuss a range of issues.

Session Topics:

  • Queer Representation in the Arts & Media
  • The State of the State – Post Amendment 1 and HB2
  • If you can play, you can play – What role do sports play in the fight for LGBTQ+ equality?

Broader Engagements:

Lunch will be provided by Ashley Christensen Catering

Throughout the day, participants will be invited to share their stories as part of “The Story of Us,” an initiative to document and celebrate the history of the LGBTQ+ community at UNC Chapel Hill and beyond.

After sessions we will gather on Franklin St. for dinner and a drag show hosted by Kenan Flagler MBA Pride Club.
