President Tony Kearney

 

Tony Kearney graduated with a B.A. in economics from Carolina in 1987. While a Tar Heel, Tony was an Orientation leader twice and a Senior Class Marshall. He was also involved with the Residence Hall Association. In 1992, Tony graduated from the University of South Carolina with a masters in Higher Education Administration. After USC, he worked at the University of Georgia in residence life. He presently works for Planned Parenthood Southeast in Atlanta as Vice President of Development. Tony was a founding member of the Carolina Pride Alum Network and recently finished a five-year term with UNC’s Board of Visitors. He is excited to lead the organization for the next two years.

Secretary Shelby Bass

 

Shelby Bass (they/them) is an award-winning queer activist and art director who believes in the power of media to tell influential stories and transform society’s perception of marginalized groups. After graduating summa cum laude from UNC-Chapel Hill, Shelby worked in advertising while volunteering their design expertise for organizations such as the Carolina Abortion Fund, various progressive political organizations, and SparkCon (a NC-based arts organization). They had the privilege to design CPAN’s brand identity and logo. Shelby received their master’s from Virginia Commonwealth University and currently lives in Brooklyn.
